Here’s a rough translation for the clip of One Ok Rock’s interview in Thailand, aired on Channel V Thailand
TRANSLATION: CHANNEL V THAILAND INTERVIEW: ONE OK ROCK 2013
Taka: You’re watching Channel V Thailand
VJ: Hello, you’re with VJ Fifa and today I’m sitting with a Japanese Rock Band with a large fanbase here— right now all their tickets are sold out. That band is One Ok Rock! Hello :)
Taka: Thank you, Sawasdee krub (Thai greeting)
VJ: Thank you, Konnichiwa
VJ: First off, can you introduce yourselves and say hi to the fans?
Taka: Hi my name is Taka, nice to meet you~!
Ryota: My name is Ryota, nice to meet you
Toru: My name is Toru, nice to meet you
Tomoya: My name is Tomoya, nice to meet you.
Q: When have you arrived in Thailand?
Q: Have you tried traveling around and trying out any Thai foods?
Taka: Haven’t been anywhere yet, mostly in our hotel rooms, we will go after this :D .
Q: Have you visited/travelled to Thailand before?
Taka: I have once, earlier this year
Q: What made you include Thailand in the 2013 One Ok Rock Tour?
Taka: The reason Thailand was included in the Tour because we heard that there were a number of fans here in Thailand. It’s our principle to go where fans are, so that’s why we’re here
[[T/N: the latter part sorta lagged in the recording, but I watched the non-lagged version earlier and transcribed it from memory]]
Q: Where did you go for your world tour and how were the fans’ feed back?
Taka: We went to a lot of different countries during our World Tour, in Europe, England: Amsterdam, France, Germany. In Asia, we’ve went to Hongkong, Korea and planning to visit a lot of SEA countries, fans have been great so far & looking forward to the rest
[[T/N: the recording lagged and cut off here, but he continues saying “and planning to visit a lot of SEA countries, fans have been great so far & looking forward to the rest” or something along those lines >< doing this from memory for this part lol]]
Q: About the concert name—why “Who are you, Who are we?”
Taka: because many countries we’re on tour in, we haven’t been there before; it’ll be our first time to see the fans in those countries—so we decided it to make it a question, something like “Who are you, Who are we?” Sorta like a first meet/ introduction kind of idea, so we can get to know each other more.
Q: About your latest album—who did you work with, how was the work process different from your previous albums?
Taka: The difference between this album and our earlier albums would be the sound/the mixing. We had John Feldmann help us mix the sounds for this album
Q: For the single “be the light” it was featured in the film — Captain Harlock — how do you feel about having your music featured in films?
Taka: We want to spread our music, so when it was presented in the film, it became more widely known, and we’re very happy about that.
Q: What’s your highest goal in terms of music? Any goals for the band in the future?
Taka; Really, we don’t want to be satisfied with what we have done, this way we’ll keep improving and being better at what we want/like to do. I think this is pretty much our goal.
Q: Lastly, talk about your first large concert in Bangkok, and do you want to say anything to fans of One Ok Rock?
Taka: We’re really excited about playing a concert here in Thailand, and we’d love to come back and play more. Though it may be too early to say this, but we really want to return and we want the fans to come see us preform live again. We love Thailand a lot too :D.
VJ: I believe that a lot of the fans here love One Ok Rock as well, so I hope you’ll enjoy the concert and your visit here.
